Soneva Fushi is located on the largest private island in the Maldives and prides itself on being the original bare-foot luxury resort. The recently opened Organic Garden Restaurant will be host to M. Blanc’s informal cookery demonstration where he will offer guests a variety of tips and culinary ideas. Surrounded by fruit orchards, herbs and spice gardens, the restaurant is accessed by a rope bridge across the jungle canopy. Ingredients are either grown on the resort or sourced locally, a feature common to all Six Senses resorts which reflect their commitment to environmental and social responsibility. M Blanc will also be preparing two celebratory dinners in Me Dhuniye, the fine dining restaurant offering New World Asian cuisine.
In contrast, Soneva Gili is on a small private coral island and was one of the first all-over water resorts to open in the world. A unique venue to be included in the culinary programme is the subterranean Gourmet Cellar where M Blanc will present two celebratory dinners. Wine racks are recessed into the wall displaying more than 300 labels. The focal point running almost the entire length is a 6m driftwood tree trunk, a legacy of the 2004 Tsunami, into which are slotted glass table tops and wine glass shelves.
Additionally, there are two smaller vaults featuring an array of smoked meats and the other dedicated to a range of superb cheeses. The relaxed surroundings of the Over Water Bar will also be host to M. Blanc’s cookery demonstrations.
