Le Manoir welcomes Pammy Riggs for an informative day which will teach you how to keep a happy flock of hens. Then be inspired by the tutors in The Raymond Blanc Cookery School on how to make the most of your own free range eggs.
Pammy Riggs is The River Cottage ‘Chicken Whisperer’, and teaches the chicken courses there. She writes regularly on poultry matters for various magazines, always propounding an ethical approach to poultry-keeping.
With her husband she has transformed a Devon field into an ethical business with a farmhouse fuelled and heated by wood grown on the farm.
Pammy trained as an artist before working with animals. Tending animals with care and consideration is the basis for her approach, and has led to the ‘old fashioned’ system she has established to produce poultry to the highest possible standards.
Pammy was the Organic Businessperson of the Year 2004 and winner of numerous national and local Food Awards for produce from the farm. She works closely with Jim Vyse Arks and can recommend everything you need to keep hens.
