Raymond Blanc invites you to join us for a lighthearted look back at the fascinating life so far of poetess and national treasure’ Pam Ayres.
Pam Ayres recently celebrated 35 years as a writer, poet and entertainer. It was in November 1975 that Pam first appeared on TV talent show, Opportunity Knocks, the “Britain’s Got Talent” TV show of its day. Pam’s books have appeared in the bestseller lists over several decades, and many of Pam’s poems feature in school textbooks around the world. She has performed for HM The Queen, and was awarded an MBE in the 2004 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
A regular on TV, Pam has recently been seen on The One Show, Paul O’Grady, and QI. Pam’s fourth series of Ayres on the Air will be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 2011. She is a frequent guest on Just A Minute, Loose Ends, and Saturday Live.
