A guided tour of Harcourt Arboretum and the rhododendrons - Wednesday, 11th May - SOLD OUTA must for all garden lovers is our annual trip to the Harcourt Arboretum. Last year’s bluebell tour was a resounding success and we feel sure that this year’s event will be just as enjoyable.
There are no walls, glasshouses or straight lines at the Harcourt Arboretum: it is a magical place to spend a day at any time of the year. This time we will take guests on a guided tour as the azaleas and rhododendrons fill the grounds with beauty and colour.
The collection of plants for which the University is now responsible is more diverse than at any time since the Oxford Physic Garden was founded in 1621. In addition to a dramatic collection of trees and shrubs the Arboretum is home to a series of themed plants including a fern gully, meadow and a collection of Plants from High Places, full of plants from mountainous parts of the world including the Pyrenees, the Pindhos Mountains, the Himalayas, the Drakensburg Mountains, the Chilean Andes and South Island of New Zealand. The Arboretum provides the perfect companion to the Botanic Garden in central Oxford.
After the guided tours we will return to Le Manoir for a delicious lunch to complete a perfect summer’s day.
This event is priced at £165 per person including:
Morning coffee at Le Manoir Travel to Harcourt Arboretum Guided tour of the Arboretum and its azaleas and rhododendrons Laurent-Perrier Champagne reception at Le Manoir Three course lunch with accompanying wines
